About
Maria Gismondi is a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT), process-oriented Teaching Artist, writer and Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200). A former professional dancer and theatre artist with undergraduate degrees in Theatre and Education, and a Master’s in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, her work is deeply informed by 25+ years of experience in movement, creative process, body-based psychotherapy and mindfulness practices. She is an experienced clinician who uses movement as a healing modality with clients ranging from children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to adults on inpatient units as a community-based mental health therapist. Maria has partnered with institutions such as The Children's Museum, Attack Theatre, Bricolage Production Company, and Jefferson University to provide creative process-based engagements to participants of all ages and experience levels. She currently sits on the Pennsylvania Board of the American Dance Therapy Association as a Multicultural and Diversity Liaison to the National Board. Maria is honored to share the medicine of movement with anyone interested in its healing powers.
Services
I facilitate mindful experiences that help people connect to creative impulse, increase somatic awareness, and engage in self-expression, in order to unblock the flow of free play, reduce stress and enhance well-being. I work with all ages and stages, and I look forward to connecting with you to design the perfect service for your needs! Single session or series based packages available. No experience necessary.

Yoga, Meditation & Mindfulness
Body positive and trauma-informed vinyasa yoga and somatic mindfulness sessions designed for all levels, with a focus on breath, flow, and present moment awareness. 1:1, small, and large group instruction available. Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200) with Yoga Alliance.

Therapeutic Movement
Clinical relational movement sessions designed to explore the mind/body connection, enhance self awareness, and aid emotional processing. Client-centered and goal-oriented, sessions can support increased communication, self-regulation, social/emotional learning and relational skills. Individual and group sessions available. Suitable for all ages and levels. Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) with the American Dance Therapy Association.

Collaborative Expressive Movement/Team Building
Process-based collaborative movement experiences designed to increase confidence, build or strengthen relationships, and connect participants to their own creative and expressive energy through the spirit of free play. Improve team productivity and make lasting connections via a framework of intentional creative-process engagements. Virtual or in person services available.
